KEYNOTE SPEAKER : Elizabeth Webby - ‘Katherine Mansfield: Everything and Nothing’

Elizabeth WebbyEmeritus Professor Elizabeth Webby AM FAHA held the Chair of Australian Literature at the University of Sydney from 1990-2007. She has written and edited many books and essays, as well as the literary journal Southerly.

While the main focus of her teaching and research has been on Australian literature, especially work from the nineteenth-century and by women, she has also had longstanding interests in the short story and New Zealand literature. She will speak about the work of the New Zealand writer Katherine Mansfield, one of the pioneers of the modern short story.


The 2018 Members' Book Awards Ceremony will be conducted and winners will be announced and presented with their Awards during the Luncheon.

WORKSHOP PRESENTER: Colleen Keating - Finding the Poetic to Make Your Writing Shimmer

Colleen KeatingColleen is an award winning poet and member of the SWW. She has two books of poetry published by Ginninderra Press, A Call to Listen (2014) and Fire on Water (2017) has co-edited two Anthologies of women’s work Our Womens Work (2013) and Bare: prose and poetry (2016).

Colleen is presently completing a verse novel, on the mystic and acclaimed 12th century Abbess, Hildegard of Bingen. Come along with pen and paper and be prepared to listen and respond to your inner voice.
