Rita Shaw retired in 2009 after many years as a Bid Manager, writer, editor and proof reader in Sydney’s corporate arena, after starting her career at the University of NSW Library.
She is a professional wildlife photographer and has written a travel memoir, A Rhino Lady in Africa, on her experiences in Africa and love for some of the people she has met and many special encounters with animals, particularly rhinos. Rita’s extensive rhino collection was featured on the ABC’s The Collectors program in 2009.
Rita edits, proofreads and sets up book manuscripts, including designing covers. She oversees the printing process if the author is self-publishing and assists the author with checking proofs if the manuscript is picked up by a publisher.
Twilight sailing races on Pittwater are a favoured pastime, as well as crosswords, sudoku and Words with Friends.
