Teresa Petersen - Committee Member

I have a BA(hons)PhD in English Literature. During the course of my studies, I covered Early Medieval to Twentieth Century Literature.

My study included Literary Theory and Uses of Language. This afforded a powerful tool to look at the psychoanalytic dynamic at work in a given text. My specialty is Victorian and Australian Literature.

During my period at Macquarie University, I convened Australian Studies for many years. This course attracted foreign students interested in various aspects and perspectives on Australia from Aboriginal Studies to the Historical, Geographical and Political. Lecturers conversant in these specialised areas of study taught on the course.

When I ceased teaching, I was granted Honorary Associate status to continue my research.

I have published The Enigmatic Christina Stead: A Provocative Re:Reading (Melbourne University Press 2001) and Daphne DuMaurier: Looking Inward (Austin Macauley Publishers, London, 2017).

In addition I have published several journal articles in peer-reviewed journals and presented numerous papers at conferences.

I now look forward to writing a book on a topic that is non-academic and intend to enjoy the journey.
