Regional Event - March Meeting and Picnic Lunch

On Wednesday, 17 March 2021, a small group of SWW members and friends from the Southern Highlands, South Coast and Sydney gathered at Harper’s Mansion, Berrima.
During morning tea, Ann Beaumont spoke about the history of the house, a 1936 National Trust property, then we were free to roam the house, the maze and the extensive gardens to absorb a sense of ‘place’.
Two ladies from the Friends of Harper’s Mansion prepared a delicious and nutritious picnic lunch under the trees. SWW members Christine Sykes and Jo Oliver inspired us with tales of their writing journeys and projects past, present and future.
It was a wonderful opportunity to listen and learn, but also to connect, chat and laugh with convivial like-minded women. Despite the somewhat fractious weather, we all enjoyed the day immensely and left in the afternoon feeling refreshed and definitely very well fed!
