Joanne was a registered nurse. She ventured into writing crime fiction, humour and later, poetry. She has won or been placed in The Society of Women Writers’ biennial writing competitions, the Scarlet Stiletto and Queen of Crime competitions and the Newcastle Poetry Prize.
