A thoughtful and beautifully illustrated collection of nature poems to celebrate our precious world, from beloved children’s author Libby Hathorn and award winning illustrator Christina Booth.


Libby Hathorn is a poet and prolific author for children. Her latest work the stage play Incredibilia combines 20 of her picture storybooks and was performed at the State Library, NSW and Riverside Theatre 2024.


Translated into several languages and adapted for stage and screen, Libby’s work has won many honours in Australia, United States, Great Britain and the Netherlands. Among other literary awards she is the recipient of the Pixie O’Harris ABIA Award 2022, and The Lady Cutler Award 2020, for distinguished services to Australian children’s literature.


Her YA novel, Thunderwith is a movie by Hallmark Hall of Fame – The Echo of Thunder – starring Judy Davis. Two of Libby’s picture books have been adapted as operas, Grandma’s Shoes (Australian Opera) and Sky Sash So Blue (Miles College, Alabama). Her picture book Way Home won the Kate Greenaway Award, UK for illustrations by Greg Rogers. 


Her picture book No! Never! with daughter Lisa Hathorn, won the CBCA Picture Book Award, Younger Readers, 2021. Her latest picture book is Mother Earth (Hachette, 2023) poems celebrating the wonders of nature. 


Verse novel Through a Glass Darkly has recently been contracted for 2026. Among other projects (Shining City, Sydney) she is currently working on a collection of Australian poetry This is Us for the National Library of Australia to be published November, 2025.
