Rita retired in 2009 after many years as a Bid Manager, writer, editor and proof reader in Sydney’s corporate arena, after starting her career at the University of NSW Library.
She is a professional wildlife photographer and has written a travel memoir, A Rhino Lady in Africa, about her experiences over 12 (out of 16) trips to Africa and love for some of the people she has met and many special encounters with animals, particularly rhinos. Rita’s extensive rhino collection was featured on the ABC’s The Collectors program in 2009 and is believed to be one of the largest of its kind in the world.
Rita is The Society’s function photographer, Facebook coordinator and Web Master of The Society’s website. She is currently writing a historical novel, based mainly on her father’s family.
