SeaQuills Writing Group

Paperback 2025

Hear the whisper of the surf, feel the give of the ground beneath your feet. Step onto the shore of shifting sands and feel the currents of the SeaQuills creative writing group. More than a collection of stories and poetry, this anthology is a powerful testament to a shared devotion to the written word, a force as elemental as the tides.

Shifting Sands explores the constantly shifting drifts of human experience: the gentle wash of reminiscence, the ache of grief, the warmth of laughter, the comfort of domesticity and heroism found in ordinary struggles.

SeaQuills writing group includes members of NSW SWW, authors Joni Braham (poems in Ink 4 Centenary Edition 2025 and Women’s Ink!), Christine Sykes (The Tap Cats of the Sunshine Coast, The Changing Room, Gough and Me), and Gwen Wilson (I Belong to No One, Louisa (pending 2026) and Loving in the Shadow of TitoInk 4 Centenary Edition 2025).

It is a unique collaboration between The Links Seaside by Warrigal and residents and non-residents of the facility. In particular, it celebrates the value of people’s contributions beyond retirement and is a shining example of aging creatively.

Shifting Sands features 74 short stories and poems written by SeaQuills members. The anthology is available via Amazon Australia or directly from the anthologist at mm.edit@icloud.com.
