Member Profiles

Bronwyn Rodden has published short fiction and poetry in Australia, the USA and the UK, holds an MA Writing (University of Technology, Sydney) and won the Patricia Hackett Prize for Short Fiction.


Her poetry is included in the Anthology of International Contemporary Surrealist and Magical Realist Poetry, USA, and she was a Finalist in the 2023 Newcastle Poetry Prize (Australia).


One of her stories was Highly Commended in the Society of Women Writers 2024 Short Story Awards and was chosen for the Centenary Anthology. Her collection of poetry Stranded was published by Flying Islands Press in 2025 and one of her poems will be performed at the launch of the HERstory Festival, Sydney in 2025.


She has published five novels, Fish; The Moon and the Sea ‘dazzling depths of magic realism and women’s literature’ US Review of Books; and her three Blue Mountains Mysteries, The Crushers, Orphan Rock and The Weaver of Blackheath. She has also published three collections of short stories, Short Fiction for an Absurd World (Finalist in the Eric Hoffer Award); Darkness (longlisted for the Carmel Bird Award), and Avoiding the Fairies at Halloween
