Melanie Ifield is a prize-winning author from rural NSW, with a variety of publications in journals such as Mona, Specul8, AntipodeanSF and an upcoming publication on ‘writing illness’ with WestWords. Melanie has guest edited for the SWAMP journal, judged for the 2022 Aurealis YA Short Story Awards and is the manuscript assessor for the Fellowship of Australian Writers (FAW) NSW. She completed her Masters of Creative Writing in 2022, graduating with the Macquarie University Award for Academic Excellence.
She has published five children’s/young adult adventure and fantasy books, and two adult novels. When she isn’t trying to put pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard) she is researching ways to enhance her health, as she lives with myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME) and postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (PoTS).
